On-Site Conveyor Assessment

Finding Problems, Before They Stop Production

A conveyor problem rarely starts overnight. Wear, misalignment and component issues often develop over time before they lead to a breakdown.

At N E Vulcanising, our engineers carry out detailed conveyor site surveys to identify potential issues early, helping you plan maintenance, prevent unexpected failures and get the most from your equipment.

Whether you’re planning a belt replacement, reviewing an existing system or looking to improve reliability, we’ll assess your conveyor and provide practical recommendations based on its condition and the demands of your operation.

What We Inspect

Our surveys cover the full conveyor system from head to tail — not just the belt. We assess every component that affects belt performance and system reliability, because a worn pulley or misaligned idler can be just as damaging as a damaged belt if left unchecked.

Survey Scope

  • Belt Condition: Cover wear, edge damage, splice integrity, and carcass exposure assessment.
  • Pulley & Drum Inspection: Lagging condition, shell wear, bearing health, and alignment checks.
  • Idler & Roller Assessment: Seizure, wear, and spacing verification across carrying and return frames.
  • Structure & Alignment: Frame straightness, transition geometry, and tracking analysis.
  • Guarding & Safety: Compliance review of nip guards, emergency stops, and access provisions.

Detailed Reporting & Recommendations

Every site survey concludes with a comprehensive written report — including photographic evidence, component condition ratings, and prioritised maintenance recommendations. We categorise findings by urgency so your planning team can allocate budget where it matters most, scheduling critical work immediately and deferring lower-priority items to planned shutdown windows.

Scheduled Survey Programmes

For operations running multiple conveyor lines, we offer scheduled survey contracts that provide regular, systematic inspections at intervals tailored to your operating environment. Consistent monitoring builds a condition history for each conveyor, allowing you to track degradation trends and forecast replacement timescales with confidence.
