Mobile plant works hard, moves often and rarely stops somewhere convenient. When a belt goes down, the machine is standing, the job slows down and, for plant-hire companies, a customer is left waiting.
N E Vulcanising supplies, fits, joins, repairs and maintains conveyor belting for construction and demolition contractors, plant-hire companies, crushing and screening operators, groundworks contractors and aggregate recyclers across the UK.
From a planned belt change between hires to an urgent breakdown on a live site, we have the belt, equipment and engineers to get the job moving.
For standard mobile plant, there is usually no need to arrange a separate measuring visit first.
Tell us the make, model and conveyor position, and we can identify the belt required before we travel. Our engineers work across jaw, cone and impact crushers, screeners, shredders, trommels, stackers and washing equipment, so we know the belt sizes and set-ups involved.
That gets the job moving from the first call, saves an unnecessary visit and means the replacement can be prepared before we arrive on site.
From feed to stockpile, we supply, fit, join, repair and maintain belts across the full mobile-plant conveyor system.
We take care of everything in relation to belts, including:
- Feed & Product Belts: Replacement belts for crushers, screeners and shredders.
- Stacker, Radial & Incline Belts: Plain, chevron, cleated and rip-stop belting for stockpiling, incline and transfer conveyors.
- Magnetic Separator Belts: Replacement belts for overband magnets and magnetic separator conveyors.
- On-Site Belt Changes: Removal of the old belt, fitting and jointing of the replacement, then tracking checks before the machine goes back to work.
- Repairs & Jointing: Hot vulcanised joints, cold-cure repairs, edge repairs and mechanical fastening.
- Tracking & Conveyor Maintenance: Tracking correction, drum lagging and replacement of rollers, idlers, bearings, pulleys and skirts.
Whether you need one belt replacing or ongoing support across a fleet, we can supply the belt only or carry out the full job on site.
Knowing the belt is only useful if you can get hold of it.
We hold over 100,000 metres of conveyor belting in stock, in widths from 500mm to 2600mm. This includes plain, chevron and rip-stop belting, among others- in a range of strengths and cover grades for the impact, abrasion, incline and tearing risks found on mobile plant.
We can select the right construction around the machine, material and conveyor position, then cut and prepare the belt before attending site. For fleet operators, we can also identify the belts used across the machines you run, making future replacements quicker to organise.
Not every damaged belt needs replacing, but another temporary repair is not always the right answer either.
We assess the damage, the condition of the joint and the remaining life in the belt, then advise on the most practical way forward. That may be a hot vulcanised repair, cold-cure patch, edge repair, mechanical fastener, partial replacement or a full belt change.
Common problems we are called out to include:
- Torn covers and damaged edges
- Failed or lifting joints
- Belt damage caused by impact or trapped material
- Belts slipping on the drive
- Belts pulling to one side
- Worn belts that are no longer worth repairing
Whatever the issue, we will assess the cause, advise on the right repair or replacement and put it right.
A replacement belt will not last as it should if it is running over a failed bearing, seized roller, worn skirt or damaged lagging.
We can deal with the wider conveyor issues during the same visit, including tracking, rollers, idlers, bearings, pulleys, skirts and diamond or ceramic drum lagging. That helps protect the replacement belt and prevents the same problem coming back around too soon.
When a machine is out on hire, the repair needs to work around the customer and site as well as your own depot.
We can attend hired plant wherever it is working, including evenings, nights and weekends where the job cannot stop during normal hours. Planned replacements and repairs can also be completed at your depot between hires, ready for the machine’s next job.
Whether you need help with one difficult belt, an urgent breakdown or ongoing support across a fleet, we can work around the way your business operates.
Not every conveyor on a construction or demolition site is part of a standard mobile machine.
For fixed, custom-built or modified conveyors, we carry out site surveys to establish the correct belt dimensions, specification and condition.
We can identify joint wear, edge damage, mistracking, damaged lagging and failing conveyor components, then separate what needs attention now from work that can be planned into a shutdown.
Our engineers provide 24/7 breakdown support for emergency conveyor belt repairs and replacements across the UK.
We establish the machine, belt position and site details before setting off, giving us the best chance of arriving with the right belt and equipment to complete the work.
Based in Stoke-on-Trent, we are well placed and travel nationwide when required.
Construction and demolition sites do not always offer easy access, suitable power or workshop conditions. Our service vehicles carry the specialist tools and materials needed for on-site belt work, along with our own generators, mobile presses and lifting equipment.
Our engineers are trained for working at height, harness use, lifting equipment, forklifts, scissor lifts and cherry pickers. Our conveyor experience goes back to 1986, so difficult access, damaged machinery and time-sensitive jobs are all part of the work.
