Quarrying & Aggregates

Quarrying & Aggregates

From Crusher To Stockpile. We Keep It Moving.

A quarry belt failure is rarely a small job. Material backs up, production is affected and someone needs to get the right belt, people and equipment on site quickly enough to make a difference.

N E Vulcanising supplies, fits, joins, repairs and maintains conveyor belts for quarrying and aggregate operations across the UK. We work on sites of every size, from independent producers to one of Europe’s largest limestone quarries.

Whether you are planning work months ahead or dealing with a belt down in the middle of the night, we make the conveyor side of the job straightforward: a skilled team of engineers, the right equipment and a proper solution.

One Team for the Whole Job

We support belts throughout the plant, from crusher feed and discharge conveyors to screens, transfer belts, reclaim conveyors, stockpiles, radial stackers and load-out systems.

You do not need one company to source the belt, another to fit it and a third to deal with the parts causing the problem. We can assess the job, supply the belt, bring the equipment, complete the joint and deal with the wider conveyor issues at the same time.

What We Can Do for Your Plant:

  • Heavy-Duty Belt Supply & Installation: Belting supplied and fitted for crushing, screening, transfer, processing and stockpiling conveyors.
  • Long Belt Changes: Planned removal, fitting, pulling and vulcanising for larger conveyor-belt replacements.
  • Hot Vulcanised Joints: High-strength endless joints completed on site for planned installations and permanent repairs.
  • Mechanical Fastening: Suitable jointing for emergency repairs and applications where mechanical fasteners are the right option.
  • Belt Repairs: Hot and cold repairs to tears, damaged covers, edges and localised belt damage.
  • Drum Lagging: Rubber, diamond and ceramic lagging to improve grip, reduce belt slip and protect pulley surfaces.
  • Tracking & Conveyor Maintenance: Correction of tracking issues and replacement of damaged rollers, idlers, bearings, pulleys, skirts and scrapers.
  • Site Surveys & Planned Work: Belt identification, condition checks and work planned around production.
  • 24/7 Breakdown Support: Engineers available around the clock when a conveyor failure cannot wait.

Belts Ready Before the Plant Stops

We hold over 100,000 metres of conveyor belting in stock, in widths from 500mm to 2600mm, including EP multi-ply, high-abrasion, rip-stop, chevron and profiled belts.

That depth of stock means we are not starting a breakdown by waiting for a belt to be ordered in. We can select a belt around what the conveyor needs, rather than making the job fit whatever is available. We can match a proven existing specification or, where repeated wear or a change in duty makes it worthwhile, advise on alternatives.

For larger operations or difficult-access sites, we can also hold dedicated belt stock at your yard and replenish it as it is used- giving you an even faster route back into production.

Planned Work You Can Build Around

Shutdown time is valuable. The work needs to be organised before the plant stops, not worked out once it is already down.

We can survey and measure conveyors in advance, prepare the belts, joints and materials required, then plan the work in the right order. For larger shutdowns, that can mean changing several belts, carrying out repairs and dealing with lagging or tracking work in one planned visit.

Our engineers bring their own mobile presses, generators and lifting equipment, so the job is not held up waiting on power, equipment or another contractor.

The aim is simple: make the most of the window you have and hand the plant back ready to run.

Repair the Belt. Fix What Caused It.

Not every damaged belt needs replacing. Equally, there is no point repairing a belt if a seized roller, damaged lagging, poor tracking or worn skirt is going to damage it again next week.

We assess the belt, joint and conveyor around it, then advise on the most sensible route forward. That may be a hot vulcanised repair, cold-cure patch, mechanical joint, partial replacement or a complete new belt.

During the same visit, we can deal with the underlying issues affecting belt life. It saves the job becoming a repeat call-out and gives the replacement belt a fair chance of doing its job properly.

Surveys That Give You Options

Most belt failures give some warning. A survey gives you the chance to act before a worn joint, deteriorating cover, tracking issue or failing component decides the timing for you.

Our conveyor site surveys identify what needs immediate attention, what can be planned into the next shutdown and what can continue to be monitored. For larger sites, we can record belt details across the plant so future replacements can be prepared before a conveyor is taken out of service.

That gives your maintenance team clearer priorities, better use of shutdown time and fewer surprises.

When It Is Not Planned

Even the best-maintained quarry conveyor can suffer an unexpected failure. When it does, every hour matters.

Our engineers provide 24/7 breakdown support across the UK. Before setting off, we establish the belt position, conveyor details, site access and likely work required, so we arrive prepared to repair, rejoin or replace the belt- rather than simply assess the problem.

Based in Stoke-on-Trent, we are well placed for the Midlands and travel nationwide when required.

Quarry Ready From Arrival

Quarry work often means height, restricted access, remote areas of site and difficult lifting. Our engineers hold SPA Quarry Passports and are trained for the access and working requirements involved.

Our Certifications Include:

  • SPA Quarry Passport
  • Working at Height
  • Harness Use
  • Lifting Equipment
  • Forklift Operation
  • Scissor Lift Operation
  • Cherry Picker / MEWP Operation

Our conveyor experience goes back to 1986. We know what a quarry shutdown looks like, what it takes to complete a major belt change safely and how important it is to leave the plant ready for production.
