When a conveyor stops, product, materials and parcels soon stop with it.
N E Vulcanising supplies, fits, repairs and maintains conveyor belts for factories, processing and packaging plants, warehouses and distribution operations across the UK.
Whether you need a process belt made to specification, several belts changed during a shutdown, a tracking issue investigated or urgent support after a breakdown, our own team can deal with the whole job.
We work across assembly and production lines, inspection conveyors, packing systems, product transfer conveyors, parcel sortation, warehouse handling, incline conveyors, bucket elevators and bulk-material systems.
Where a belt runs through automated machinery, restricted spaces or around small pulley diameters, replacement needs planning properly. We assess the full set-up, then supply, fit and join the belt to suit the conveyor and the way it is used.
What we can do for you:
- Production & Process Belting: PVC, food-grade and friction-backed belts for assembly, inspection, packaging and product-transfer conveyors.
- Sortation & Distribution Belting: High-speed flat belts for parcel sortation, warehouse conveyors and despatch systems.
- Incline & Specialist Belting: Rough-top, chevron, cleated, flighted and sidewall belts for inclines and controlled product movement.
- Heavy-Duty Rubber Belting: Plain, rip-stop, oil-resistant and fire-resistant belts for bulk materials and demanding industrial applications.
- Bucket Elevator Belt Changes: Replacement belt, on-site jointing and the removal and refitting of buckets where required.
- On-Site Jointing & Repairs: Hot vulcanised joints, cold-cure repairs and mechanical fastening.
- Tracking & Conveyor Maintenance: Tracking correction, drum lagging and replacement of rollers, idlers and bearings.
- Site Surveys & Planned Work: Belt identification, measurement and condition checks, with work planned around your maintenance window.
- 24/7 Breakdown Support: Engineers available around the clock when a belt failure stops production or material movement.
A sortation belt needs to run consistently at speed. An incline belt needs enough grip to control the load. Belting used around food or packaging may need to meet hygiene and cleaning requirements, while conveyors handling powders, raw materials or manufactured products may need greater resistance to abrasion, oil, impact or tearing.
We specify belts around the material being carried, load, belt speed, pulley diameters, incline, surface finish, drive arrangement, operating environment and jointing method.
With over 100,000 metres of conveyor belting in stock, we can often supply the belt needed without waiting for it to be ordered in.
When production can only stop for a set period, belt work has to fit within it.
We carry out belt replacements, vulcanised joints, repairs, tracking work and drum lagging during planned shutdowns, evenings, overnight and at weekends. For larger jobs, we can survey and measure beforehand, prepare the belts and materials, then plan the work in a sensible order.
You tell us when production can stop. We will plan the work around getting it running again.
Worn joints, damaged covers, belt slip and tracking issues often develop gradually before they cause a failure.
Our conveyor site surveys identify belt deterioration alongside the wider issues affecting performance, including edge wear, damaged lagging, worn rollers and idlers, mistracking and surface damage.
We then help you prioritise what needs repairing now, what can be planned and what can continue to be monitored.
A failed belt can quickly leave product backed up and work at a standstill. Our engineers are available 24/7 for urgent repairs and replacements, with mobile presses, generators and lifting equipment ready to work on site.
Depending on the damage and the belt’s condition, we can carry out a hot vulcanised repair, cold-cure repair, mechanical joint or full belt replacement. We will assess the cause, advise on the right way forward and put it right.
A replacement belt will not last as it should if the conveyor is still pulling out of line, slipping on the drive or running over damaged rollers.
We can correct tracking, replace rollers, idlers and bearings, carry out drum lagging and deal with the wider conveyor issues causing unnecessary wear or repeat belt damage.
Factory and distribution-site conveyor work can involve mezzanine levels, restricted machinery access and tightly controlled working areas. Our engineers are trained and equipped for the lifting, access and working-at-height requirements involved, including harness work, forklifts, scissor lifts and cherry pickers.
Our conveyor experience goes back to 1986. From initial belt specification through to the final joint, the job stays with our own team.
