Belt Fitting & Vulcanising

Professional Belt Vulcanising Services

Hot & Cold Vulcanising for Strong, Long-Lasting Belt Joints

The right belt is only the starting point. How it is fitted, joined, tensioned and tracked decides whether it gets on with the job or brings the conveyor back down before it should.

N E Vulcanising provides conveyor belt fitting and hot and cold vulcanising across the UK. This is what we do every day: arrive with the right press, materials and people, complete the joint properly and leave the belt running as it should.

Vulcanising has been at the heart of our work since 1986. From a straightforward process belt to a heavy-duty industrial installation, we know the difference between getting a belt on a conveyor and getting the job right.

The Job Starts Before the Press Goes On

We look at the belt construction, conveyor duty, pulley arrangement, take-up, access and available downtime before deciding how the belt should be fitted and joined. That preparation means the right method, equipment and materials are ready when work begins.

What You Get With N E Vulcanising:

  • The right jointing method for the belt and conveyor
  • Specialist vulcanising presses and materials brought to site
  • Belt fitting, alignment, tensioning and tracking checks as part of the job
  • On-site work across the UK, with workshop pre-vulcanising where suitable
  • One experienced team from fitting through to final handover

Hot Vulcanising for Heavy-Duty Performance

Hot vulcanising creates a permanent endless conveyor belt joint using specialised vulcanising presses, controlled heat, pressure and specialist bonding materials.

It is widely used where joint strength, flexibility and service life are critical. Our engineers use the correct vulcanising press and materials for the belt construction, then complete the joint on site as part of the full installation.

Hot Vulcanising Is Ideal For:

  • Heavy-duty conveyor systems.
  • High-tension applications.
  • Continuous production environments.
  • Maximum belt life and reliability.
  • Immediate return to service once complete.

At N E Vulcanising, we match the press, materials and method to the belt, producing joints built to withstand the most demanding of working conditions.

Cold Vulcanising for Challenging Installations

Cold vulcanising provides a reliable alternative where hot vulcanising is not suitable or practical.

This method uses specialist adhesives and bonding techniques to create a durable conveyor belt joint without the need for heat or large vulcanising presses.

Cold vulcanising is often chosen where:

  • Access prevents the use of hot vulcanising equipment.
  • There is insufficient take-up adjustment or belt slack.
  • Conveyor design limits the use of heat presses.
  • Site conditions make hot vulcanising impractical.
  • A 24-hour curing period can be accommodated before use.

Cold vulcanising provides a dependable solution where hot vulcanising cannot be carried out, delivering a strong and reliable joint when the application requires an alternative approach.

Your Belt. Our Expertise

Already got the belt? We can still take care of the part that matters: fitting it, completing the hot or cold vulcanised joint and setting it up properly on site.

If you need us to supply the belt too, we can do that. We hold over 100,000 metres of conveyor belting in stock, giving us a strong chance of having the right belt ready without starting the job with a supplier lead time.

Whether you provide the belt or use ours, the fitting and vulcanising work is completed by the same experienced team.

Make The Shutdown Count

When a conveyor can only be stopped for a set period, the work has to be ready before the shutdown begins.

We can prepare belts and joint materials in advance, pre-vulcanise in our workshop where suitable, and plan the fitting work around your available window.

That keeps site downtime focused on completing the job, rather than measuring belts or waiting on materials.

On fixed, bespoke or modified conveyors, a site survey beforehand helps you pick up wear and developing issues before they dictate the next shutdown- while giving us the exact detail to prepare the work properly.

When a Repair Makes More Sense.

A damaged belt does not always need replacing or rejoining. Where a proper repair gives the best outcome, we will say so.

Our belt-repair service covers tears, damaged covers, edges and localised damage, helping extend belt life where replacement is not yet necessary.

When You Need It Done Now.

A failed joint or damaged belt does not always wait for the next planned shutdown.

Our engineers provide 24/7 support for urgent belt fitting, vulcanising and replacement work. We establish the belt, conveyor position and site access before setting off, then arrive with the equipment needed to carry out the work — including our own mobile presses, generators and lifting equipment.

New Installations. Ready to Commission.

If you are installing a new conveyor or commissioning a new line, we can fit and vulcanise the belt as part of the build. We work alongside your project team or installer, completing the joint, alignment, tension and tracking checks before handover.

That leaves you with a conveyor ready to commission, with the belt fitted and joined properly from day one.
