NEV Team

Our Company

ANY CONVEYOR.
ANY BELT.

Our story began around 45 years ago, deep in a Stoke-on-Trent coal mine. Fresh out of school, Nigel started his career as a vulcaniser, learning the ropes in one of the toughest environments around. Those early years set the foundation for everything that followed.

N E Vulcanising was founded in Stoke-on-Trent in 2002 by Nigel and Alison Emberson, starting out with a family dining table as an office and a garage as a workshop. Specialising in the supply and fitting of belts for industrial machinery, Nigel quickly saw the value of using premium materials and tools for better, longer-lasting productivity.

Today, N E Vulcanising is a trusted name in the industry, still family-run with Daniel leading the way, supported by Nigel, Alison, and their three daughters—Samantha, Shelley, and Sophie.

Our Journey

HISTORY &
TIMELINE

1983

Early Vulcanising Experience

Nigel is employed at Hem Heath colliery in Stoke-on-Trent. His role includes overseeing the conveyors, maintaining the mechanics & vulcanised joints.

2000

N E Vulcanising is founded

After leaving the pit, Nigel worked for several crushing & screening companies before becoming self-employed, starting with a single van, providing conveyor belt maintenance & vulcanising services across the UK.

2004

Limited company formed

N E Vulcanising Ltd is incorporated. The business grows steadily through repeat work, a strong reputation for reliability, and continued reinvestment in equipment and services.

2009

Family joins the business

Nigel's son Daniel joins the company as demand increases and workloads grow across multiple sites, marking the start of the next generation.

2010

First industrial unit

The business moves into its first industrial premises, providing a dedicated base for tools, stock, and operations.

2012

Stockholding increases

Significant volumes of conveyor belting are imported & held in stock for the first time. This improves response times and reduces downtime for customers.

2014

Investment in equipment

The company moves to a bigger unit & invests in belt slitters, belt winders and additional vulcanising presses, improving efficiency and allowing more work to be completed in-house.

2019

Current premises

N E Vulcanising moves into its current 15,000 sq. ft unit, significantly increasing storage capacity, workshop space and operational capability.

2023

Major Contract Expansion

N E Vulcanising begins servicing the largest limestone quarry in Europe, while continuing to support quarries, recycling, foundries and heavy industry — demonstrating the company’s ability to meet growing demand at scale.

2026

Today

Now a team of 15, including 11 engineers, the company holds one of the UK’s largest ranges of conveyor belting and associated products, supported by a modern fleet of fully equipped vans, serving industries all over the UK.
